History
There has been a church here for almost 1000 years, and it is loved and cherished by parishioners.
The current building dates from the 13th century, and was extended about 100 years after being built. The font is Norman and an ancient, weathered cross in the churchyard is said to be Saxon.
Feel free to enjoy the beautiful ambience of the churchyard, and should you wish to look inside, call Marje Bishop (790768) or Mark Gillingham (791442) for a key.

(not Holy Communion)
Hinton Parva on Sunday 19th September – 6pm Songs of Praise Service

In addition everyone is warmly invited to join the children, parents and friends of Bishopstone School at their Harvest Service on Thursday 23rd September at 1.30 pm.
(Please note that the services at Hinton and Bishopstone are swapped round from their `normal’ Sundays for an evening service.)
Please try to bring harvest offerings of food to these services, either fresh produce or dried/tinned goods.
All food given will be divided between The Green Hut, Swindon Foodbank and The Filling Station.
SUNDAY SHOUT IN THE SUMMER
Because a lot of people are away, there will be no Sunday Shout at Wanborough in August.
The next one will be on the 26th September.
SPONSORED BIKE RIDE AND WALK - SATURDAY 11th SEPTEMBER
Would you like to cycle or walk around the Churches and Chapels of Wiltshire to raise money for Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust? In past years they have given grants towards Wanborough's tower roof and have promised funds for Liddington's bells. Half the money raised goes to the church of your own choice. Sponsorship forms and details are available from the Vicar (Wanborough - 790242).
You work out your own route and visit as many or as few churches as you wish, and get family and friends to sponsor you.
RESTORING ST.ANDREW'S CHURCH ORGAN
Having got enough money now, we are applying for official church permission ( a 'Faculty') to restore the organ. We hope to receive this in order for the work to start in late August or early September.
The work will take about eight weeks, and during this time the organ will be in pieces, which will be stored at the back of the church.
GREENBELT FESTIVAL
Greenbelt is one of the leading Christian festivals, held each year at the end of August at Cheltenham Racecourse, and a party from the benefice is planning to visit there for the day on Sunday 29th August..
Please let the Vicar know if you would like to join a party to attend Greenbelt, so that we can arrange transport together.
Because of this planned visit, there will be just one service in the benefice on Sunday 29th: 8.30am Holy Communion at Hinton Parva.

Bell News
Our church architect, John Radice, has been instructed to create costings for works to the church tower including an investigation into structural stability preparatory to restoration of the bells and an updated quote for their restoration. Other works already agreed include restoration of the clock and safety improvements to access the bell frame and tower roof.
A preliminary meeting has been held to investigate the best means of creating a safe access to the tower roof through the bell frame and bell mechanism, and a design has been produced by our architect.
